Jane MacDougallI’m a journalist. A Canadian journalist, at that. So I live in a land where it’s dark by four p.m. and still dark at 8 the next morning.
You get used to it.
It rains a lot where I live. That you never get used to.
I love the rain, but it complicates things.
And I’m a mom.
So I worry.
It comes with the territory.
We’re dog people at my house so we’re often out in all kinds of weather.
Apparently, I’m not as young as I used to be so I’m beginning to understand how ageing vision affects safety.
I’ve seen several pedestrians struck down.
Each time, I’ve had the same thought:
It could just as easily have been me.
Both as a pedestrian or as a driver.
