Living Dangerously … Accidentally.

Living Dangerously … Accidentally.

Do you know what group is the least likely to say: TGIF? Pedestrians! Friday is the most dangerous day of the week for pedestrians. And guess which months of the year are the most dangerous? It stands to reason that the darkest days are the most dangerous, so that would mean November, December and January, when days are shortest. The most dangerous hours for pedestrians are between 3 pm and 6 pm. Approaching half of all pedestrian collisions – 43% - take place between 3 pm and 9 pm. And heads up at intersections! That’s where 75% of all crashes involving pedestrians take place.

Here’s a picture of a pedestrian’s Worst Case Scenario:

You’ve just got off work on a rainy Friday afternoon in the busy month of December and you’re in a hurry to cross a busy street. Coming right at you is a distracted driver.

The single best thing you can do as pedestrian is BE AWARE and take care out there!

Be safe. Be Seen.
